Our History...
Eastover Hotel is a newly-opened facility with an old history. The "summer cottages" of stockbroker Harris Fahnestock, the Mansion of the Hotel dates back to 1910. Years later, after the Fahnestock family sold the estate at auction, it became a boys' school. Eastover sat empty from 1944, when the school went bankrupt, until 1946, when George Bisacca, a businessman from Connecticut, purchased the estate with hopes of turning the property into a resort, renaming the property Eastover. Eastover was family owned and operated for 62 years until the closing in November, 2009. The property was sold early in 2010 and here, the new history begins.
The Owners of Eastover Hotel have used these past months to upgrade and improve on the property, guest rooms and facilities. Extensive work has been done to provide our guests with a safe, highly maintained facility to enjoy. It is their hope that Eastover Hotel be a destination for those who enjoy the beauty of this primitive property, the arts and cultural experience that is offered by the Beautiful Berkshires, and the relaxing, private atmosphere of our establishment.
